Massachusetts legislators hope state residents smoke more to help pay for the “uninsured”

So one of the first “universal health” progams in the nation is becoming ever-more costly for the state to support.

Now, Massachusetts legislators are going to add $1 per pack to the price of cigarettes to fund costs that are far beyond the state’s ability to pay.

What happens if people smoke less, and the funding for the “savior of the health care crisis” becomes even more insolvent?

Or do Massachusetts legislators secretly hope that residents will continue to smoke more, leading to more breathing and health problems, and thus adding to the burden of an already ill-conceived state health plan?

Talk about a Catch-22 that these bubble-headed legislators have created for themselves: banking the future of their socialized medicine on the continued bad health habits of some, making them future members of the plan.

Next up? Federal universal health ala Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama. One can hardly wait.
